· In Developed Countries, Advanced cold storage systems are widely available, particularly in countries like the United States. However, these solutions often cater to large-scale operations. For smallholders, the options are either prohibitively expensive or oversized for their needs, making them economically inefficient.
· In Developing Countries, the cold chain infrastructure is often underdeveloped or nonexistent. Limited access to electricity, poor road networks, and high upfront investment costs hinder the deployment of effective cold storage and refrigerated transportation, leading to substantial post-harvest losses.
